Friends of LMRG

Rob Paisley a long time friend and former member of the LMRG, Rob built a large number of the electronic circuits used on the Holborn St. layout. Detailed instructions and circuit diagrams of these and many other model railroad electronics are on his site.

Railway City Hobbies Located in St. Thomas just 20 min. south of London. A new supporter of the LMRG, RCH is a hobby shop carrying model railroad locomotives, modeling supplies, DCC supplies and kits. Pete's Trains 561 Horton Street, London, ON, N6B 1M8 - A selection of detail parts and unique items in this well stocked hobby shop. Pete has a Facebook page and you can contact the shop Fri 9am to 5pm and Mon, Tue, Sat. 9am to 4pm @ 519-518-5550 (closed Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday). Port Stanley Terminal Rail PSTR is an operating tourist railway located in the beautiful, lakeside village of Port Stanley, Ontario, Canada. A truly worthwhile experience, take a train ride from Port Stanley to St. Thomas on a circa 1940-1950 train.

Model Railroad Club of Toronto Home to the O scale Central Ontario Railway, Located at 11 Curity Avenue in East York (Toronto) since April 2013. Like the LMRG it was formed in 1938 but was originally a 3-rail layout. It was converted to 2-rail operation in the late 1960's.  Reconstruction began April 2013 in its new 3400 ft2 home.

The Detroit Model Railroad Club Our sister club to the west operating since 1936 located in Holly Michigan, is also an O scale 2-rail operation. The current layout has been under construction since 1974. Check out the web site for open house dates.

St. Jacobs & Aberfoyle Model Railway O Scale layout depicting Southern Ontario in the Late 1950's.  This layout used to be in Aberfoyle Ontario but now resides in in St. Jacobs located at: 1440-3 King St. North, St. Jacobs, ON.  The layout is open to the public every Sat. and Sun. from 10am - 5pm. Check the website for further details before visiting.

Niagara Frontier Region (NFR NMRA)

North Central Region (NCR NMRA) The Hotbox is the NCR's Webzine and a great online source of articles.

Canada Southern - History Though originally this site dealt with the Canada Southern only, it has evolved into much more with tons of New York Central photos and information.

West Coast Railway Association is a non-profit society incorporated in 1961 as a registered charity under the Societies Act of British Columbia. Its goal is the Preservation of British Columbia's Railway Heritage and currently has more than 1500 active members. Great photos, history and other info.

The Ontario Southland Railway Inc. is an independently held short line operator. The company was founded in 1992 to purchase 17 miles of track between Tillsonburg and Ingersoll, Ontario from the Canadian Pacific Railway.

The Goderich–Exeter Railway is a short line freight railway that operates around 181 miles of track in Southern Ontario. Created in 1992, it was the first short line railway in Canada to be purchased from a class I railway, in this case Canadian National Railway. It took over operation of further CN trackage in 1998.

GIO Rail Formerly the Trillium Railway Company until 2018, GIO Rail is a short line railway operating company. In business since 1997, it currently operates two short line railways in Southern Ontario. Through the Port Colborne Harbour Railway (PCHR) and the St. Thomas & Eastern Railway (STER) customers receive consistent and reliable freight service on over 100 km. of trackage.

4LargeScale.com is growing site for those interested in larger scale railroading form On3 upwards, incredible detail and quality models with plenty of pictures and modeling advice that can be used in any scale.

myLargescale.com is "the finest place on the internet for G Scale Model Trains", contains links, forums, pictures, articles. They also are creating similar spaces for other scales from Z to O, keep checking for updates

RailPictures.ca excellent resource for model railroad and prototype images, layout pictures...

Electric Lines in Southern Ontario the title says it all, trolley and street car historical information to keep you busy for days.

Dave's Electric Railroads a collection of electric railroad, interurban, and streetcar photography from many eras and of particular interest to us is the Ontario page with a large collection of photos

NiagaraRails contains photos, maps, rosters, of prototype operations in the Niagara and surrounding Southwest Ontario region from the last decade.

The Ontario Railway History Page a detailed history of railways constructed within the Province of Ontario and a complete listing of remaining railway stations by Robert J. Hughes.
